I never seem to know what to post. I mean, I guess I could post what I do everyday, but that just seems lame. It barely keeps me awake while I'm doing it, so what would it be like to have to read about it everyday? Well, I'll do my best to keep this stuff as entertaining as possible. But if it can't entertain you, maybe just inform. Who knows.. I ramble.
So, a couple weeks ago, I started back at the gym. Big whoop, right? Well, usually yes. But this time, I actually have an honest-to-goodness gym buddy. Sometimes even two! While we were at a birthday party, the hostess and I spoke for awhile. I told her how good she was looking, and she told me she's working out a lot, and then she said she works out at the Tech Ridge Gold's Gym. That's kinda odd as she lives near UT campus. But she said she really prefers that Gold's to any closer to her, and it's a straight shot up 35 for her. She then said I could join her anytime if I wanted. Well, I tucked that info away, and just thought maybe it could be idle chit-chat sort of thing, but a few days later I emailed her and said I was interested. The following Monday, I started it up. She is hardcore! We usually do one hour of cardio in the cardio cinema (holy crap, best idea ever!) and an hour-ish doing weights. Sometimes cardio is first, sometimes it's last. The first couple days I probably hit it way too hard cuz I was sure feeling it on the third day. But I managed to push through. That also taught me to lay off a bit so I don't burn out. So, all in all, in a day I spend about 30 mins getting to the gym, 2-2.5 hours in the gym, and another 30 mins to get back home. That's some serious friggin' commitment. It's really fun though.
I don't get to have a lot of social time with women-folk. These days I can't even stand to go into work. No idea what is up with that. But, a weird sort of by-product of working from home more is I've started to try to actually get out more. With the gym alone, that's a huge improvement. But, wait! There's more :D Rob and I attended an orientation for Public Access Community Television. We also went ahead and got our Producer IDs. We still have to do a few classes before we're making our own shows, but we're on our way. I'm so excited!
Another thing I'm going to be doing in the near future is volunteering with the Friends of the Austin Public Library. I still have to fill out the forms, but I definitely want to do that.
Well, I think that's all I have. Nothing crazy entertaining, but at least it's what is going on with me. What's going on with you?
